Save the date: The 2019 AGM has now been scheduled

Your club needs you! A date has now been set for Carisbrooke Tennis Club’s 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the club is on the look out for a new chairman and committee members.

Previous chairman Paul Jessop has recently stepped down as the chairman and as a committee member. The club would like to thank Paul for his off-court enthusiasm and major contributions to the club, which have seen an increase in membership, a Club of the Year title, a significant upgrade to Carisbrooke’s facilities and a new addition to our already-strong coaching team.

It means we are now looking for a new chairperson from April to help in continuing to drive the club forward and build on the achievements during Paul’s time in the role.

The General Management Committee (GMC) is therefore seeking expressions of interest in the position from our membership. We are also looking for volunteers to join the committee to help strengthen the existing team of seven.

If you are interested in either the chairperson’s role or would like to join the committee, please email secretary John Simpson at or phone 07443 647 699.

The chairperson’s vacancy will be just one of the topics discussed at this year’s AGM, which will take place this year on Wednesday, March 27th, at 7pm in the clubhouse.

Members will also be able to learn about the club’s short, medium and long-term goals and hear reports about our finances, membership, coaching, facilities and social events for the forthcoming 12 months.

There will also be an open forum where members can raise any topics of their choosing.
