CARISBROOKE Tennis Club received an early Christmas present this week all the way from Belgium – and we’re not talking about a fresh shipment of Stella Artois!
In exciting news, the club’s brand spanking new Dome was delivered on Monday and is now due to be put in place by a specialist team from manufacturers Bridome next week.
Indoor court-users are being contacted by Dome Manager Paul Jessop to inform them of any disruptions to the usual schedule but if you have any questions please call Paul on 07446 538 303 or email email@example.com
Bridome are expected to start work on putting up the new structure and taking away the old Dome next Tuesday with the work expected to take around two to three days.
Remarkably, the man leading the project, Walter, is the same man who put up the original Dome more than two decades ago.
Our old faithful Dome has served us well – 24 years to be exact – and is believed to be one of the oldest and longest-standing airdomes of its kind in the country. But the club’s committee identified six years ago that a new Dome was needed to ensure we could continue to offer indoor play for members and non-members alike, and to sustain a vital revenue stream for club funds.
That new Dome is now here and represents the culmination of years of hard work to bring it to fruition.
There will be further news updates about the new Dome posted on our website as soon as they become available.
