With the county championships now over, it’s now time to turn attention to the domestic front with Carisbrooke’s own internal club championships.
This year’s tournament runs over 15 days from Saturday, August 25, until Saturday, September 8, with a big Finals Day celebration and barbecue planned for that date from 11.30am (Sunday, September 9, is being set aside as a reserve Finals Day option in case of rain on the Saturday).
There are the usual array of handicap and level events to suit all abilities as well as age-group events for the veterans at the club.
Entry forms are in the clubhouse or can also be downloaded and printed off at home. Download the form by clicking here. Please take note of the ‘eligibility’ boxes to assist tournament organiser Jack Simpson with scheduling matches.
The closing date for entries is Sunday, August 19, with the tournament information and schedule due to be put up in the clubhouse from around Thursday, August 23. No entries will be allowed after the deadline date.
Entries will not be accepted without payment and both parts of the entry form must be filled out. People can give their completed forms to Jack or place them in the tournament forms box in the clubhouse.
The first matches then get underway on Saturday, August 26, from 10am.
