CARISBROOKE Tennis Club members have the chance to nominate a tennis player or key behind-the-scenes person for a prestigious county award.
Tennis Leicestershire is inviting people to give recognition to those in tennis throughout Leicestershire as part of its annual County Awards Evening, taking place this year on Thursday, February 11, at the Leicester Tigers’ conference centre at iconic rugby venue Welford Road in the city.
The winners from the first eight categories listed below will be put forward to a regional judging panel, consisting of East Midlands representatives and the LTA’s Head of Region. Each of the five regions will then select a winner for each category with the victors presented with a special trophy as well as being considered for the national Aegon British Tennis Awards at Wimbledon on June 28.
Not only that, but there is an impressive £5,000 facility grant up for grabs as well as the chance to meet a tennis legend for the national winners in the Club, Community and Education categories. All other winners will receive an engraved trophy and voucher.
All the Leicestershire winners will be recognised at the County Awards Night on February 11 – so make sure you mark that date in your diaries!
However, time is running out to register your nominations and votes, as the deadline is next Monday, January 25.
