We love it when a plan comes together. Top tennis, warm weather and glorious grub will be in store at Carisbrooke Tennis Club this Sunday afternoon (May 20) when the Aegon National Club League returns to Kenwood Road.
It’s been three weeks since The Brooke last hosted an NCL clash and the intervening weeks have been good to the side.
They remain undefeated in the league and now sit atop the standings after their thrilling winner-takes-all tie-break victory at Cardiff LTC last Sunday.
And another Welsh team is in prospect this Sunday in the form of Mackintosh Sports Club, also of Cardiff. The side have won this NCL National Open One (Midlands area) crown in each of the past three seasons and have twice beaten Carisbrooke 8-4 in the past two NCL campaigns.
Home fans will be hoping for a different result this Sunday against the 2018 Mackintosh side, who have already been beaten in the league thus far, a 0-12 reverse at Nottinghamshire outfit Lady Bay in round three.
The action gets underway at midday on Sunday and all are welcome.
As well as the high-quality tennis on show, the bar in the clubhouse will be open all day and there will also be a bring-your-own barbecue for spectators to enjoy.
Meanwhile, in other NCL news, Carisbrooke men’s second team will be hosting a game at home this weekend, too.
The Brooke are entertaining Loughborough University this Saturday from midday.
